Always, the poster child for Absolutism, both historically and in his own time, is Louis XIV, "the Sun King", who boastfully asserted "L'etat, c'est moi". You know what a mnemonic device is, right? One of those clever memory things, things like an acronym for the planets (my 4th grade one, still firm in my memory "Sally moves very easily, mostly jumps, sometimes up, never politely" obviously preceded Pluto's humiliating demotion). Gotta figure that English schoolkids would do the same about all the stuff they have to memorize about Cromwell, right? A description of elements of the building of the Duomo, highlighting Brunelleschi's achievement in a brief animated piece. This film does an effective job of enlivening connections between historical events and specific advances. It, too, is a little dated in its presentation.
